How to Make the Best Use of Garage Space

Are you not sure how to make the most efficient use of your garage? Or maybe you are running into storage issues and need to make some changes. Read below to learn 4 garage space saving tips!

Having a two or three car garage is awesome! However, taking full advantage of the space is no easy task. Making a conscious effort in garage organization can help you protect your stored items and improve access to everyday items.

Ceiling Hooks
Look up! Garage organization isn’t all that bad. Consider using ceiling hooks to hang items that
only get used during select seasons. Bikes, kayaks and skis can be kept above the car during their off season. This allows you to easily access items that get used on a daily basis and prevent tripping from out of season items. Ceiling hooks and racks can be easily installed and require a minimal investment. Make sure the hooks are firmly tightened and enjoy the added space from this trick!

Boxes and Organization
Organize your gear by usage! Separate each activity and put all related gear together. Consider bulking camping, golf, kids sports and lawn care to have their own buckets. This prevents items from getting lost and damaged in the garage. Additionally, this allows you to move boxes back during off seasons. Pull forward items when you need them and return them to the same box afterwards. An added bonus of this strategy is the water protection your items receive in case of flooding.

Clutter Reduction
It’s easy to be a gearhead, however, it is harder to actually use all of your gear. Try to minimize the clutter and items in your garage that never gets used. Growing families tend to run into unused kids skis and gear that is too small. Donate or sell these items and clear up space. Reduce the overall amount of gear that is in your garage. If your boat or larger equipment takes up too much space, consider an additional storage
unit.
